Tania Gheerbrant is an artist and researcher. She graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2017. Her work mirrors our disciplinary society and questions normativity, particularly in the field of mental health. She constructs a militant and collective counter-history of madness. By developing a filmic, visual and graphic practice she leads her research on listening and care into plastic forms.
She has shown her work in various institutions, including: Palais de Tokyo, Salzburger Kunstverein (solo), Frac Bretagne, Galerie Anne Barrault, Kulturfolger-Zurich (solo), Bally Foundation, Palais des Beaux-Arts, Mains d’Oeuvres, Salon de Montrouge, Ateliers Vivegnis International (solo), Point Commun, Cité internationale des Arts (solo), Panacée MoCo, Paris Czech Cultural Center and Villa Radet.
Her video work has been screened in different institutions and art spaces such as: AWARE, Archives of Women Artists Research and Exhibitions, HKV Berlin as part of the Centre Pompidou’s Culture d’avenir programme, CCC OD and Echo Park film center in Los Angeles.
She has been awarded various grants and prizes, including the Prix Art Norac and Mécène du Sud in 2024. Her latest works have been commissioned by the Fondation Bally (Switzerland) and supported by the Palais de Tokyo (Paris) and the DRAC Île-de-France.
